The Rave Debate Part 2

I was hoping to not inspire debate, but rather mass-debate!! lmao

Anyway, I don't know shit about raves or glow sticks or anything like that, I just found the pics labeled rave and kept the titles.

hot indeed, but on the rave note, its sort of a whole package. A dance is a dance, but a rave is something different. For one thing there is very ***ely alcohol there (unless some demanding DJ wants it in the back room) . So if you see glow sticks and alcohol in the same shot, its a club or college party...not a rave. Other hints its not a rave: Wet T-Shirt contest, attractive girls in skirts and heels (unless its a very ***e costume rave, they still probably wouldn't wear heels)

most of those don't look like rave pics to me...what dungar said makes sense...those wet t-shirt contests and dorm settings don't scream "RAVE"!!! to me =)

though I've only been to a few so I can't say I'm an authority on this subject....

lol joy and i went to 2 raves a few weeks ago back to back....

people were definatly dressed up but yeah -- wet tshirts is an indication its Not a rave....

Hmmm. Every since Rainbow put up the initial thread in the partying/drunk section, I've only heard what a rave is not. Would someone please state what a rave is without mentioning what it is not. :shock: :P :lol:

I had a room mate that was a DJ and a HUGE rave fan. Basicly, a TRUE rave is a no alcohol all ages get together with various types of electronic music. There is usually a lot of drug use, though it is something the promoters frown on, as it is a liability. The music is usually something with a very strong bass beat and constant flow of sounds. The "rave" is considered by a lot of people not to be a party, but a total experience. I personally think that they are an excuse to use drugs and have a lot of sex.

Actually, there is a LOT of sex at raves, but it is almost always in the bathroom stalls. Sometimes if they are outside, you can hear stuff going on in tents that will curl your hair.

A rave is more than just techno, dancing, and drugs. Raving is about Peace, Love, Understanding, and Respect. You really shouldn't be having sex while on X though. In reality, a rave is about having a good time, hopefully without drugs, but espically without alochol, as alochol is a downer...and it's about the hot chicks :wink:
