I have not had much chance lately to dl/buy music, but just got 2 albums that I really like.
1: Handsome Boy Modeling School - White People
2: Chemical Brothers - Push the Button
Any tips what else I should get? The direction isnt that important, as long as its not typical chart bullshit.

I recommend no one get the new 50 Cent album. It is a huge dissapointment and does not even reach the level of his first one.

Who ISN'T ripping someone else off these days. My god, it's been almost 40 years...can all these bands PLEASE stop ripping off Kinks' licks? And hell, I'm not even old enough to remember the Kinks, but I've heard them enough to know when someone's stealing from them.
But it's like that w/ just about 80% of anything on the radio, if you start digging into music history, you start to notice that it's all being recycled, just dressed up in whatever clothing is considered ironic or hip these days.
Lately I've been listening to a lot of Cornershop, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Fountains of Wayne, and Cake.

I actually used to buy "rap-crap". Music is not what it used to be ten to fifteen years ago. I don't listen to radio or buy CD's. Even downloading music is a ***ity for me.

Rap use to be much better. I miss the politcal rap from the 80s like Public Enemy and 2Pac was just awesome. Shit these days is just ass. It's the same "bling bling" shit recycled every fucking song

Rap is a joke right now. The most any rapper sells is maybe 2-3 million albums. The creativity and art have gone down to nil.
